Having known the Combes family in 2003, I have been fortunate to have spent many stays at the Château de Garrevagues over the years. The welcome of the family and Marie-Christine especially is out of the extraordinary. She makes everybody feel welcome, at home and always knows how to touch people’s hearts and minds. It is the personality of Marie-Christine as a host that makes a stay at Chateau de Garrevaques an exceptional moment, enjoying the beautiful, well maintained Chateau with all its history and stories and the beautiful surroundings of the Lauragais. To me and my family the Chateau and the Combes Family are home and family. Thank you for all you give to all those that come and go!

RESTORATION OF THE PANORAMIC WALLPAPERS
Complete suite of twelve grisaille paintings telling the story of Psyche and Cupid, created by the famous Parisian manufacture of Joseph Dufour in 1815. This is the original and complete edition!
The regional commission for heritage and sites voted unanimously for its inscription as a French Historic Monument and vowed the classification by a majority vote.
Two of the twelve paintings are very damaged, a bookcase hides them now, for lack of restoration.
WALL FACING
The castle is completely covered with false brick masonry bond with lime on brick wall.
This choice was made in 1870 to harmonize the façades of the castle, that has been rebuilt on the ancient walls of the fortress. According to several experts, this parging has required exceptional technicality.
One hundred and fifty years later, it needs to be restored and the Fondation du Patrimoine (“Heritage Foundation”) accompanies us in our efforts.

Association of the friends of the castle of Garrevaques
Convinced that when one has the chance to own a place and documents of ancestors for eighteen generations, it is a sacred duty to bring them back to life, several descendants of Gineste de Bouffard-Madiane, have decided to meet to exhume and share the unknown treasures of their family home.
Open to all, our association wishes to transmit the history of the castle of Garrevaques and to contribute to the restoration and protection of the estate and its archives.
